Matt’s E6
Matt was after a very OEM+ installation of the new Powertune Australia built 2.2L 4G63.
Benchmark Solutions worked with Matt to replace OEM components in a maintenance/restoration mindset, to complement the refreshed engine package. The choice of finish of the Rocker Cover themes nicely with the silver body work and contrasted grey TE37V wheels.
On engine removal, the condition of the head required new valves to be installed, along with the obligatory GSC S2's and Valve Springs. This car has been run exclusively on E85 for an extended period of time.
With an M1 ECU, Stock frame turbo and fuel system upgrade planned in the future, getting the car running again on the current combination was the scope. As can be seen, the E9 turbo works well with the fresh engine and 2.2, with gains seen everywhere on less boost.
A Plazmaman Racing (no logo) intercooler and Setrab oil cooler were installed to compliment the fresh engine.
More to come…

Clean CP on Rays Volk TE37V Wheels. Plazmaman Intercooler hides behind the front bar.

Zinc plated bolt restoration with a Hi-Octane Coatings Rocker Cover. Engine bay neatened right up with careful placement of current essentials. Future plans will improve the quality of the loom, ancillaries and fabricated components, as well as a new turbocharger assembly and Drive By Wire conversion.

Ready to drive.
Whilst not a direct comparison (due to intercooler, fresh injectors, head service and a capacity increase to 2.2L), the plot represents the driveability and efficiency improvements which have been achieved with less boost being required to make more power and torque than previous.
